Privacy Policy

Reddit Subreddit Notifier ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that monitors Reddit subreddits and sends desktop notifications for new posts. This privacy policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

📋1. Information We Collect

🚫2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect any of the following:

• Browsing history or web activity
• Clicks, mouse movements, keystrokes, or any form of user activity tracking
• Financial or payment information (payments are processed entirely by Polar.sh — we never see your card details)
• Location data
• Personal communications
• Health information
• Any website content you view

💾3. How Data Is Stored

• Locally: Your settings (subreddit list, flair selections, check intervals) are stored in Chrome's local storage on your device using chrome.storage.local.
• Cloud (optional): If you are a Pro user and choose to use Cloud Sync, your settings are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, secured with Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules.

No data is stored on any other servers. The extension does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party data collection services.

🌐4. Third-Party Services

The extension communicates with the following services:

• Reddit (reddit.com): To fetch new posts and flair data from subreddits you are monitoring. Only public, non-authenticated API endpoints are used.
• Google Firebase: For Google Sign-In authentication and Firestore cloud storage (only if you sign in and use sync).
• Polar.sh: To process Pro subscription purchases. Payment is handled entirely on Polar.sh's platform — we do not receive or store payment details.

👤6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Delete local data: Use "Clear All Subreddits" in the extension settings, or simply uninstall the extension.
• Delete cloud data: Sign out from the extension. You may also request deletion of your Firestore data by contacting us.
• Revoke access: You can revoke Google Sign-In permissions at any time from your Google Account settings.

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
